TEDxWinnipeg is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading innovative ideas through an annual one-day event in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Since its inception in 2011, originally known as TEDxManitoba, the event has showcased over 140 TEDx Talks, each representing an idea worth spreading.
Volunteers are the backbone of TEDxWinnipeg, contributing to various aspects such as event planning, speaker coordination, marketing, and guest services. By volunteering, you become part of a dynamic team committed to fostering conversation, connection, and community.

To be considered as a volunteer to help make TEDxWinnipeg 2025 on Thursday, May 29 2025 a huge success with your skills, experience and availability, please fill out the fields below and you’ll instantly be on our list for evaluation. We are currently recruiting volunteers for the following roles:
Event Setup and Teardown (May 28/29 All Day):
- Set up and dismantle event spaces and marketing materials.
- Set up attendee engagement activities.
Green Room Speaker Support/Runner (May 29 All Day):
- Provide comprehensive support for speakers during the event, including water, notes, and handling any last-minute requests.
Craft Services & Volunteer Lounge Organizer (May 28/29):
- Assist with food and beverage coordination, including replenishing supplies in the volunteer lounge.
- Ensure speakers and volunteers are well-catered in terms of meals and snacks.
Maintain the medical kit and supplies.
Event Ambassador (May 29):
- Guide attendees seamlessly from parking lots to the event entrance.
- Assist with attendee check-in and efficient distribution of event materials.
- Offer a warm welcome and guide attendees to their designated seats.
- Provide comprehensive event information and answer inquiries at an information booth.
- Direct attendees to various rooms and services.
- Ensure cleanliness in washrooms and general areas.
- Facilitate engaging activities for attendees.
- Foster positive interactions and create a welcoming atmosphere for all participants.
Hair & Makeup (May 29):
- Provide speakers with professional touch-up hair styling and makeup services.
Merchandising (A few weekends & evenings in May, May 28/29):
- Assist in merchandise preparation, labeling, and boxing.
- Facilitate on-the-day sales of merchandise.
Backstage Technical Support (May 28/29):
- Facilitate seamless hand-off of speaker microphones backstage
- Micing up speakers
- Video tech assistance
Security (May 29):
- Ensure good order during the event
- Identify and escalate issues as required
- Handle lost & found items
- Coordinate emergency assistance if required

Successful applicants will have an opportunity to be at TEDxWinnipeg 2025 working behind the scenes, and possibly attend official speaker rehearsals.
