Six Questions with Alex Drysdale

May 11, 2016 | Blog, Spotlight

1. What motivates you?

My greatest motivations are my goals. Setting big goals and telling people about them keep me motivated and excited every day. It’s also a must to spend time with like minded people that are on a similar trajectory, they help motivate you if it’s hard to find it yourself some days.

2. What do you do for a living, and what do you love about it?

I’m the Founder of Crik Nutrition, a company that make protein powder using crickets. I love this business because it combines my passions of health, sports, and business into one awesome package. It is something I truly believe in and know can bring a lot of value to many people.

3. Why are you excited to speak at TEDx?

Having always loved TED and TEDx talks since first learning about them 3 years ago, they’ve brought a lot of value to my life. I’m excited having been given the opportunity to share my big idea and bring value to many people who may not have otherwise been exposed to the topic of my talk… also I love challenging myself, and when the idea to give a talk crossed my mind, it scared me so I knew I had to apply.

4. Which TED (or TEDx) talk do you think everyone should watch?

TEDx: Mindset and Success This is the talk that had the biggest impact on my life. I had never thought of or heard the concepts before and it was the missing link that makes me now feel unstoppable in achieving any of the goals I make.

5. What is your idea worth spreading?

It’s time we start eating bugs.

6. What’s one book have you recommended more than twice?

Think and Grow Rich. I reread this book at least once a year and recommend it to every single person that is or wants to be an entrepreneur.
