WINNIPEG, MB – November 17, 2025 — TEDxWinnipeg is returning for its 12th show, calling on Manitoba’s thinkers, doers, and dreamers to step forward and share the ideas shaping our province’s future. From living rooms to lecture halls, the next big idea could come from anywhere. Applications are now open for TEDxWinnipeg 2026, and we want to hear from you.
What began as a small experiment in 2011 has become a decade-long tradition of amplifying Manitoba’s most compelling voices. Over the past 14 years, TEDxWinnipeg has hosted 148 speakers who proudly represented the province’s vibrant diversity. From entrepreneurs to educators, artists to activists, each speaker has contributed to Manitoba’s wealth of innovation.
In 2025 alone, more than 170 Manitobans applied to take the stage, but only 12 completed the transformative journey from concept to red dot, proving that courage, curiosity, and storytelling still matter in our digital world.
“Our goal has always been to amplify local voices,” said Kerry Stevenson, TEDxWinnipeg Chair. “With the support of the University of Manitoba, we’re inviting Manitobans to step forward and apply. Whether you’re an artist, a researcher, a community builder, or someone who’s never held a microphone before, this is your chance to share an idea you believe could change how we think.”
This year, we are seeking fresh perspectives that challenge conventional thinking and inspire local and global audiences alike. Applicants are encouraged to bring ideas that are original, bold, and rooted in lived experience, from community leadership and technology to art, science, and social change.
Speakers selected for TEDxWinnipeg receive personalized coaching and guidance from an experienced team to help craft world-class talks that live on far beyond the stage.
