Bring a Little More “Wow” to the TEDxWinnipeg Stage

TEDxWinnipeg is built around ideas that make people stop, think, laugh, wonder and occasionally say, “Wow — I never thought of that.”

We think the performances on our stage should do the same.

For our next event, we’re looking for one or two unusual local performers who can surprise and delight our audience with a performance of about 10 minutes. Music, movement, comedy, spoken word, visual performance, something wonderfully difficult to categorize — we’re open to possibilities.

We especially love acts that feel at home alongside the strange, fascinating and mind-bending ideas you expect from a TEDx event. If our speakers make people see the world a little differently, perhaps you can too.

Because TEDxWinnipeg is a volunteer-driven event created to help make our city a better place, our organizers and speakers are not paid, and unfortunately we aren’t able to offer performance fees or reimbursement. We’re therefore looking for performers from Winnipeg and the surrounding area.

There’s one consideration: our stage moves quickly. Your setup and teardown should be simple and fast, so acts requiring large amounts of equipment or complicated staging probably won’t be a good fit.
