On September 13, 2012 TEDx Winnipeg will be held at the Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG). Plan to attend this evening of exciting and thought provoking dialogue where some of Canada’s most unique minds will deliver 18 minutes of passion on their areas of expertise. Like other famous TED’ers before them (Bono, Bill Gates, Salman Khan) our speakers will challenge attendees thinking and act as a catalyst for increasing knowledge, experience and even action.

TED is a non-profit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world. So we're building here events and a knowledgebase that offers free knowledge and inspiration from the world's most inspired thinkers, and also a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other.

In the spirit of TED and ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in smaller groups. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
